Privacy Notice

Reach Play Therapy Ltd is registered with the ICO and complies with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information collected:

- Client's personal details

- Contact details for parents/guardians/carers

- Therapeutic notes and assessments

- Any correspondence relating to therapy

Any paper data is stored in a locked filing cabinet, while electronic data is password protected or stored on a password protected hard drive. Clients' therapeutic records will be kept for 7 years from the date the child turns 18. Electronically held contact details and correspondence relating to the therapy will be deleted 6 months from the date of the last session.

As a Play Therapist I recognise my responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people.

I recognise that:

- The welfare of the child/young person is paramount

- All children regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity have the right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.

- Working in partnership with children, young people, their parents, carers and other agencies are essential in promoting young people’s welfare.

I hold a current DBS certificate registered with www.gov.uk/dbs

I have completed training in Safeguarding children

I follow the BAPT safeguarding guidelines found at:

When I am working within a school, the Safeguarding procedures for that school will be followed.

When working independently, I will follow the procedures of the local authority in which the work is taking place.
